Past Forward Volume 5 edition by Chautona Havig Religion Spirituality eBooks

I find the story fascinating in so many ways. Living a life off the grid, almost hidden from and totally unaffected by modern culture, and having to figure out how to do everything without help or modern conveniences is attractive in some ways, yet terrifying and repulsive in others. While Willow is learning how to adapt to a new life, but retain some aspects of the old ways, many issues and philosophies are addressed, and many of the characters are forced to really examine their own ideas and opinions about life. I enjoy thinking about deep values and heart issues, so I have really enjoyed this series. I think about the story even after finishing each book. And then I am anxious to start the next one. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to think about what really matters in life and what makes relationships work. Anyone who is interested in farmsteading or homeschooling might find this an enjoyable read, too. Also DIY'ers and natural or "crunchy" mamas might be as captivated by this series as I have been.

Past Forward Volume 5 edition by Chautona Havig Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews

Lots of ups and a few downs in Willow & Chad's life in Volume 5. I like the way that its not just the same old but there are new challenges, some most Mums relate to like post-baby weight gain, and some that make us think about how we would react.

As always a good read leaving you waiting for the next installment. I don't think I will ever be finished with Willow.
It is such a great blessing to follow the characters through their trials seeing them discover the hand of God in all areas of their lives. The realness of the everyday connection to the challenges and struggles with humor and wit is refreshing. This series has left me with many thoughts to ponder, great quotes to repeat, and good advice to remember. Thanks Chautonia!
I have enjoyed every volume of Past Forward. Knowing that I was reading the last volume (so far) caused me to savor each page more than ever. Chautona Havig does such a good job of developing her characters that a reader feels like they are friends. The "real life" aspects of the book help develop an interest in what's happening and wanting to know what's going to happen next. Such a nice way to pass some quiet time with the characters of Past Forward! I was very excited to see that Ms. Havig has decided to write Volume 6. I'll be one of the first to start reading as soon as it is available.
As I have read Chautona's books I have come to love many of her characters. Willow is one of my all time favorite. Volume 5 have been a wonderful addition in Willow's story with Chad and their twin boys. Maybe I relate to this book becuase I have twin boys and the stuggles that she has to go through to adjusting to TWO babies is something that I have gone through as well. This book shows how depsite having children with Chad, she sometimes is still learning how to still be comfortable with him around in a more personal way. It was so much fun to read about her making a dress just for her husband. I just love Willow's personality and how it has grown since Volume 1.
Cannot get enough of Willow and Chad and their growing family. Volume 5 is still engaging, but I think some of Willow's spunk has gone. I know she now has the twin boys to be concerned about, but, overall, some of her sparkle is missing in this volume, which is why I only gave it 4 stars as opposed to the 5 I normally give this series. Chad, too, seems a little more hard-pressed in this volume. Also found the entire storyline related to the dead person found in the "now 2nd bathroom" which had been boarded up for all those years and only Willow's deceased mom knew about, a bit reaching and somewhat over the top. Just didn't seem to fit. Other than that, I enjoyed Volume 5 for the most part.
I have enjoyed all four volumes prior to Volume 5 in this Past Forward Series. Volume 5 did not disappoint me.

After finishing this volume I really wanted their story to go on, so I was very thrilled to learn the author is creating a Volume 6 in this series. I have enjoyed reading about the characters that are so aptly portrayed. I grew up on a Chicken Farm - laying hens. 16000 laying hens. We also had a cow and a few goats. Never a moment of free time. So I understand Willow's attitude to staying on track with what needs to be accomplished in a day. I look forward to the next episode to come.
Thank you for writing this very meaningful story about what could be people you would know. I know it will be hard to say goodbye to this family and friends we have come to know so well when the inevitable time comes.
Such is real life too.
Willow (Past Forward) was my introduction to Chautona Havig's writings. From the first pages of the first episode to the final page of the last episode, Chautona entertained, and made me think. Willow is a girl who was brought up in an environment that could have been another era. Her mother made conscious choices to keep them sheltered and independent. A tragedy leads Willow to be confronted with a world living an altogether different lifestyle and through the Volumes she makes choices on what to keep and what to change about her own lifestyle. I love the lessons to think about how you do things and why, I love seeing the way Willow thinks and the choices she makes. This is a refreshing read and I highly recommend this and any other of Havig's work.
